The reading journal, book tracker, reading challenge and stats dashboard a spreadsheet tracker promises — plus a TBR jar, series, book club and loans. No formulas to break.
Reading spreadsheets break the day a formula gets typed over, and a paper journal can’t add up your year. This opens from a double-click, works offline and keeps your reading on your own device.
What it needs, and what it does not do.
Reading Journal & Book Tracker is an offline app from ColadoSystems that runs in your web browser from a folder on your own device. It costs $24.99 once, with no subscription and no account, and includes 12 tools, sample data to explore and a PDF guide. Your records stay on your device and are never uploaded.

Everything is saved inside your browser on this device. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account, so no company holds a copy of your reading records. They are not encrypted, though: anyone who can use this device and browser can open them, so keep the device locked. Download a backup regularly (Settings → Data & backup → Back up now) and keep it somewhere as safe as the records themselves.
Yes. Open index.html and it runs fully offline. You can also host the folder on any website and choose “Install app” in Chrome or Edge to get a desktop or phone icon that works offline.
Yes. The layout adapts to phones and tablets with a bottom navigation bar. Each device keeps its own data, so use Back up / Restore to move records between devices.
Go to Settings → Data & backup → Erase records. Every sample book, session, quote and meeting is removed, and so is the sample reader’s name, so nothing of hers ends up on your printouts. Your other settings are kept.
No. It never goes online. Covers are photos you add from your own device — a picture of your copy works well — which are shrunk and kept in the app. A book without a photo gets a plain cover made from its title, author and a colour for its genre.
Your goal is spread evenly across the year. By the end of today, an even pace would have you at goal × days so far ÷ days in the year. The difference between that and the books you have actually finished, rounded to a whole book, is how far ahead or behind you are. On a goal of 45, by September 26 (day 269 of 365) an even pace is 33.2 books; 36 finished is 3 books ahead.
Any day with at least one reading session logged on it, of any book in any format. Today does not break your streak before it is over: with nothing logged yet today, the dashboard says “read today to make it” one more.
Yes. Audiobooks are tracked in hours and minutes — their length, where you are, and time listened — and are counted in hours in your stats rather than pages. E-books are tracked by page. If your e-reader only shows a percentage, set the book’s length to 100 pages and log the percentage as the page.
Yes. In the Library, switch to the list view and choose “Import from CSV…” from its menu. Columns named like the book form — Title, Author, Pages, Genre, Format, Shelf, Rating — are read in. Shelf names such as “Read”, “Currently reading” or “DNF” are understood; anything else goes on the to-read shelf. If your file comes from a reading site, rename its columns to match first.
No. It is one reader’s own library and journal. There is no stock, no selling and no borrowers’ accounts — just the books you read, the friends you lend them to and the library books you have out.
No. It is made for one person on one device, and records do not sync between devices. To move to another device, save a backup and restore it there.
